Files and folders
Browse, search, upload, download, move, rename, edit, preview, and share content from a responsive web interface.
Private, self-hosted workspace
Files brings file management, photo and video organization, cloud media imports, sharing, and administration into one private browser-based application for approved users.
What Files supports
Files is designed for large personal libraries. Everyday file tools and dedicated media experiences share the same private storage, permissions, and user access rules.
Browse, search, upload, download, move, rename, edit, preview, and share content from a responsive web interface.
Explore large photo and video libraries through a timeline, albums, tags, favorites, date-based navigation, and optional grouping of visually similar photos with a scrollable filmstrip viewer.
Rediscover media from earlier dates using views generated from the private media catalog, with similar photos diversified when the fingerprint index is available.
Import selected photos and videos from Google Photos, personal OneDrive, or this device into a destination you choose.
Administrators can review exact copies and conservative visual matches, then quarantine or delete only selected files.
Manage users, scopes, permissions, shares, background tasks, provider settings, and system-level media rules. Optional scheduled EXIF repair can detect damaged JPEG and PNG metadata and install verified repairs with retained originals.
Cloud imports
Connections use provider authorization rather than passwords. Once a cloud selection has been received, durable server-side jobs continue the import even if the browser is closed.
Uses Google’s official Photos Picker. Files receives only the photos and videos explicitly selected for that picker session and imports the highest-quality version the Picker makes available. You can also use selected Google capture dates to repair the metadata of explicitly selected local images and videos by exact filename, without downloading those Google items.
Read-only selected-media access
Browse personal OneDrive folders, choose individual media, import a whole folder recursively, or select a OneDrive photo album. Files never modifies the source items.
Files.Read access · albums in preview
Choose photos and videos through the browser or operating-system picker. That picker may offer cloud-backed media such as iCloud Photos, but Files has no direct iCloud connection.

After import
Files preserves downloaded media bytes where providers permit and uses embedded or provider-supplied capture dates so imports appear in the correct place in the Gallery timeline. Authorized task managers can preview and schedule maintenance that recovers a missing date from an Apple sidecar already stored beside the media. The sidecar is removed only after the media metadata and filesystem timestamp have been written and verified.
Import progress, retries, skipped items, and failures are tracked per user and delivered live while the import view is connected. Reconnecting reconciles the latest durable job state. Existing destination filenames are skipped without an unnecessary download.
Persistent fingerprints identify exact copies and likely visual matches. Nothing is preselected, and recoverable quarantine is available before permanent removal.
Access
The Files application and its OAuth callbacks are available only to the owner and approved users. This separate public website explains the application’s purpose, data practices, and terms before anyone grants connected-account access.
This site is informational only. It cannot browse stored files, start imports, or provide access to the private application.
